MICHIGAN 1 - RUTGERS 0

Rutgers Women's Soccer's record setting 13-game winning streak came to a halt Sunday against Michigan in the Big 10 Title game. Michigan came away with a 1-0 win to take the title away from the Lady Scarlet Knights, who set numerous program records throughout the 2021 season.

In front of a record crowd of 5,103 fans, the Scarlet Knights and Wolverines tussled in a scoreless game for a better part of the first half, until Raleigh Loughman netted the lone goal of the game, her ninth of the year, in the left corner to give Michigan a 1-0 advantage.

Rutgers attempted eight shots in the second half, including three in the second half, but it wasn't enough as Michigan goalie Hillary Beall gobbled the attempts up for the shutout victory.

Emily Mason, Riley Tiernan and Frankie Tagliaferri all attempted shots on goal for Rutgers.

Even though Rutgers had its 13-game winning streak snapped, and suffered their first loss in conference this year, the season is far from over. The women await their seeding in the NCAA Tournament, which will be announced on Monday.
