President Biden Coming to New Jersey Today to Promote Agenda
President Joe Biden is making his way to New Jersey today to promote his “Build Back Better” agenda and infrastructure plan.
The $1 trillion bill has had a tough time getting through Congress with some Democrats raising concerns over the structure and cost of various initiatives in the bill. The plan already passed the senate, even receiving support from 19 Republicans.
According to reports, Biden will be welcomed by Governor Phil Murphy before making stops in North Plainfield to visit a school, and Newark and Kearny for the groundbreaking of the Portal North Bridge replacement over the Hackensack River which runs between Newark and Penn Station.
Looking forward to welcoming @POTUS to New Jersey on Monday to highlight the incredible progress we’ve made on everything from infrastructure to support for working families.

“The outdated swing bridge, which often gets stuck, delaying rail traffic on the Northeast Corridor — used by Amtrak and NJ Transit — will be replaced with a two-track, 2.5-mile bridge that will run 50 feet above the river,” (northjersey.com)
Biden isn’t the only politician to come to New Jersey in recent weeks. Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama have come to the Garden State to show their support for Governor Murphy, who is running for re-election against Republican Jack Ciattarelli.
Citattarelli has already received support from Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.
The election is November 2.
