For one it was a horrible way to lose. For the other it was one of the best victories of the season. So is the case for Tri-State area hockey fans as the Ne York Rangers stormed back from a 3-1 deficit to shock the New Jersey Devils 4-3 in Overtime at the Garden on Monday night.
Filip Chytil provided the game winning score when he took a pass from Artemi Panarin and K’Andre Miller and bounced it into the net past goalie Vitek Vanecek sending the Garden into a tizzy.
What a game at the Garden!

The overtime winner completed a heck of a comeback for the Rangers who trailed the Devils 3-1 in the second period. New Jersey got out to fast start, scoring a pair of goals within 1:41 of one another in the first period when Nico HIschier and Dawson Mercer both tapped the puck into the net.
The Rangers inched closer when Chris Kreider scored his 14th goal of the year to make it a 2-1 game after the first period. Jack Hughes would answer for New Jersey with his 15th goal of the season in the early stages of the second period to make it 3-1.
That all set up the Rangers to score a pair of goals within a matter of seconds thanks to shots by Vincent Trocheck and Kaapo Kakko.
