The New Jersey Devils extended its winning streak to 11 games thanks to an overtime netter by Yegor Sharangovich 57 seconds into the overtime period to give Jersey a 3-2 win over Toronto.

The victory ties the second longest winning streak in Devils histroy at 11 games. Only the 2000-01 Devils had a longer winning streak of 13 games.

“We’re a really good team,” Nico Hischier said. “And we believe in each other. … We’re playing some really good hockey. It’s not going to be easy playing against us.”

Hischier would score the Devils second goal of the night in the second period that gave Jersey a 2-1 lead at the time. Jesper Bratt opened the Devils scoring in the first period some 28 seconds after Toronto scored on a power play by Auston Matthews.

  • Rangers Fall to Kraken

Meanwhile the Broadway Blue Shirts couldn’t stop the Kraken in Seattle late Thursday night, falling 3-2 in overtime themselves.

Mika Zibanejad and Vincent Trocheck each scored on a power play for New York, but it wasn’t enough as Justin Schultz connected on his second goal of the game — in overtime.

  • Predators Down the Islanders

Finally, the Islanders found themselves in a 3-1 hole they couldn’t get out of as Nashville Predators won 5-4.

Cal Clutterbuck and Kyle Palmieri each scored to get the Isles to within one goal at 4-3, but Nashville’s Juuso Parssinen connected on the power play in the third period to ice it.
