Just when you thought it was fun to be a Jets fans again, receiver Elijah Moore had other ideas.
According to multiple sources, Moore has requested a trade from the New York Jets due to what he believes is a lack of involvement in the offense.
Rich Cimini of ESPN reported late Thursday that Moore was sent home before practice Thursday for a personal day, and that coach Robert Saleh said he was excused because of a family issue.
The Jets are said to have no intentions to follow through with Moore’s trade request.
Source: WR Elijah Moore has requested a trade (as @RapSheet said). #Jets are not considering a trade, I'm told. That deteriorated quickly.

Moore becomes the second Jets wide out to request a trade over lack of involvement in the offense; the other being Denzel Mims who has been inactive in all six of the Jets regular season games thus far. Don’t be shocked, should Moore be inactive himself on Sunday, that Mims is activated, according to Cimini.
Moore was targeted only once in the Jets 27-10 win over Green Bay on Sunday. According to ESPN, Moore has been targeted just 13 percent of the time this year, which is ranked 78th among 81 qualified receivers.
Since the Jets drafted him in the second round of the 2021 draft, Moore hasn’t exactly lived up to the hype that many fans tagged him with early. An injury riddled year in 2021 saw Moore play in 11 of the Jets 17 games.
When he did play, Moore was good, hauling in 43 catches for 538 yards and five touchdowns.
This season he has 16 receptions for 203 yards and no touchdowns.
