It is Week 4 of the 2023 NFL season, or better known as the first quarter pole of the season. Fans can no longer say it is early as trends are to take shape. Don’t believe me? Look at the Lions 34-20 victory over the Green Bay Packers that moved Detroit sole possession of first place in the NFC North at 3-1. Chances are now, with Green Bay sputtering at 2-2, and Minnesota and Chicago both a mess at 0-3, Detroit took a huge step toward winning the division last night.

But that isn’t the only headline for Week 4. Here in New Jersey, the World Champion Kansas City Chiefs are rolling into town, and they are bringing Taylor Swift and Swiftie-mania with them. Swift is currently dating Chiefs All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce. The Chiefs take on the stumbling Jets on Sunday night.

At the same time the Giants (1-2) continue to fly under the radar, despite facing a must win scenario in Week 4 against the high-scoring Seattle Seahawks.

Let’s dig in!

• Kansas City (2-1) (-9.5) @ NY Jets (1-2)

  So what’s happening with this game? Ha ha ha! The Kansas City Swifties, as I will call them, come to town with Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift, and the world champs. On paper this is a total mismatch as the Jets have been unable to get out of their own way since Aaron Rodgers’ devastating Achilles Tendon injury in Week 1. Zach Wilson might be on his last legs as a starter for the Jets, as fans and media are blasting the young man left and right. If the Jets stand a chance, they must commit to running the ball with Breece Hall, Dalvin Cook and Michael Carter. It’s the only way. If Wilson has to throw, which he will, it could get ugly. The Jets defense will face a very stiff challenge from Patrick Mahomes, who could make their lives miserable.

  PICK: CHIEFS 31 – JETS 13.

• Seattle (2-1) (-1.0) @ NY Giants (1-2)

  The betting line for this one is a virtual pick-em. With Philadelphia and Dallas far out front in the NFC East, the Giants need to have this one. The last time Giants fans saw Big Blue in front of the home crowd, they lost 40-0 to Dallas. The Giants come in with injury concerns. Saquon Barkley is questionable, and left tackle Andrew Thomas should be back, and if he is, it will be the fourth different O-Line combo in four weeks.

  The Seahawks have posted 37 points in each of their last two games. Geno Smith has been dominant, and Kenneth Walker III is running the ball well, which is a problem for the Giants struggling defense.

  Can the desperate Giants muster enough for the upset?

  PICK: SEAHAWKS 27 – GIANTS 21 

• Miami (3-0) @ Buffalo (2-1) (-2.5)

  The Miami Dolphins are riding high after scoring a near NFL record 70-points against the Denver Broncos last week. It figures to be a much tougher test this time against the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo has dominated this series since 2018 when Josh Allen came into the League. Buffalo is 9-1 in their last 10 games against the Fish. The Bills have clamped down on things defensively, and that could be an issue for the speed of the Dolphins offense. This one will be a fun watch.

  PICK: BILLS 28 – DOLPHINS 20. 

• Tampa Bay (2-1) @ New Orleans (2-1) (-3.5)

  Tom Brady and Drew Brees may no longer be part of the proceedings of this match-up, but it is still a compelling one out of the NFC South. The winner likely takes over first place in the division. A lot of this game hinges on Derek Carr’s status. He is listed as questionable with a shoulder injury, and didn’t participate in practice on Thursday. If he can’t go, Jamies Winston likely gets the ball for New Orleans.

  The Bucs are coming of a 25-11 beatdown at the hands of the Eagles. Baker Mayfield has to limit the mistakes, and on the flip side, the Bucs have to find a way to get the Saints offense off the field.

  PICK: SAINTS 21 – BUCCANEERS 17 

• New England ( 1-2) @ Dallas (2-1) (-6.5)

  The battle of the Jets and Giants arch rivals: the New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys meet up in Big D on Sunday afternoon. The Patriots are coming in feeling ok after they squeaked by the Jets 15-10, while the Cowboys are miserable following their 28-16 loss to Arizona.  The Patriots offense is not that great. Mac Jones can be efficient, but he’s not going to put up a lot of points. This is a great opportunity for Dallas’ defense to get back on track.

  PICK: COWBOYS 31 – PATRIOTS 14.
