It is Week 3 is the League where they play for pay, and while it is still early, this is the week where teams that are either 0-2 or 1-1 coming in known they must win or things are going to get sketchy. Currently nine teams come into the week with a record of 0-2. Some of them are teams with high expectations like the Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots and L.A. Chargers. A loss for either of these clubs in Week 3, and 0-3 would likely mean good bye playoffs — ALREADY!!

• NY Giants (1-1) @ San Francisco (2-0) (-10.5)

  Ooof! That’s really all one can say about this matchup. Ooof, if you are a New York Giants fan, because Big Blue is lucky to come into the game with a record of 1-1. They were down 20-0 at the half, and 28-7 in the third quarter to the lowly Arizona Cardinals. Had Big Blue lost and dropped to 0-2 with this game on the horizon, Brian Daboll and company wouldn’t hear the end of it. With Saquon Barkley sidelined with a knee injury, there will be more weight on Daniel Jones’ shoulders to deliver dimes like he did in the fourth quarter of the Arizona game. Easier said than done against the 49ers pass rush, which is one of the best in the league. Also Brock Purdy is the REAL deal under center for San Fran.
  PICK: 49ers 27 – GIANTS 13

• New England (0-2) (-2.5) @ NY Jets (1-1)

  The New York Jets have lost 14 straight games to the New England Patriots, and are 1-17 against their hated rivals since 2014. It hasn’t really been much of a rivalry in recent years,  as Pats head Coach Bill Belichick continues to torment his former team after all these years.  The Patriots are 0-2. There is a lack of faith among many in quarterback Mac Jones, and the talent on this Patriots roster. The Jets — talent wise — should win this game. But, with inconsistent Zach Wilson under center playing behind a bad offensive line, the Patriots have a punchers chance. And that is all Bill Belichick needs.

  PICK: PATRIOTS 16 – JETS 9. 

• Denver (0-2) @ Miami (2-0) (-6.5)

  There is already drama brewing in Denver. Head Coach Sean Payton was brought in to fix Russell Wilson, and get the embattled quarterback back on a Hall of Fame trajectory. Instead Payton is already frustrated, saying in the press that Wilson has to be “sharper” in managing the offense. It won’t get any easier this weekend under the sweltering humidity of Miami, Florida. The Dolphins are 2-0, and are averaging 357 yards through the air in two games. The good news for Denver: Miami’s defense isn’t that great either.

  PICK: DOLPHINS 33 – BRONCOS 26. 

• Chicago (0-2) @ Kansas City (1-1) (-13)

  The Chicago Bears are in big trouble. And I mean off the field. Their defensive coordinator Allan Williams resigned amid personal issues, with rumors flying that the FBI is involved in some capacity. Moreover, quarterback Justin Fields threw the coaches under the bus when describing his struggles with the offense. Now the battered Bears head to K.C. to face the Champs. This should be a route for Patrick Mahomes and company.

  PICK: CHIEFS 42 – BEARS 16 

• Philadelphia (2-0) (-5.0) @ Tampa Bay (2-0)

  Perhaps the most intriguing game of the weekend is on Monday night in Tampa. The Bucs are a surprising 2-0, as quarterback Baker Mayfield has been solid and a good leader, and Todd Bowles’ defense is wrecking havoc. They welcome in the NFC Champion Eagles who look like they haven’t skipped a beat at 2-0. This should be a lot of fun to see how Jalen Hurts takes on this Bucs D.

  PICK: EAGLES 24 – BUCCANEERS 22.
