New York Jets Officially Selected for HBO “Hard Knocks” Sports Drama
The New York Jets are officially on their way back to HBO’s Hard Knocks.
Reports Wednesday morning confirmed the news that Gang Green would make its second ever appearance on the reality mini-series this summer. The news comes 10 days before the Jets first training camp scrimmage on July 22.
NFL and NFL Films have selected the New York Jets to serve as this year’s team on Hard Knocks, per sources.

The NFL could have chosen one of four teams to feature on the year’s training camp series, but the Jets were an obvious choice because of the off-season trade of Aaron Rodgers that had everyone on the edge of their seats. The NFL, NFL Films and HBO are betting that the Jets will provide the series with another hit.
It’s not like the Jets wanted to do this. Weeks ago a report indicated the Jets asked the NFL to select someone else, but were bracing for reality.

The Jets publicly said they don't want to be assigned but it doesn't appear to matter, they can't decline once selected.

Gang Green is no stranger to this spotlight. They appeared on Hard Knocks back in 2010 in what many have considered the best the series has ever offered to date. That summer featured the drama over Darrelle Revis’ contract; then GM-Mike Tannenbaum making trips to Roscoe Diner to negotiate a deal with Revis; and of course, who could forget then-head coach Rex Ryan’s ostentatious display in all four episodes. Seriously for four weeks Rex Ryan was the most popular rotund Jersey-personality on HBO since Tony Soprano.
What can we expect this time? A lot of Aaron Rodgers. Like wall to wall Aaron Rodgers every episode. A lot of Zach Wilson coping with not being the starting quarterback. Did someone say Zach Wilson’s mom who is not shy on social media when it comes drawing attention to herself? How about the Quinnen Williams contract negotiation? Sauce Gardner is a electric personality and figures to be a prominent feature as well.
Yep, it could get very interesting in Florham Park in the next couple weeks. In the words of Rex Ryan: “Let’s get a (BLEEP BLEEP) Snack.”
