Michael Jordan Selling Majority Ownership of Hornets
After 13 years Michael Jordan has decided to sell majority ownership of the Charolette Hornets. Back in 2010 he bought the team from Bob Johnson for $180 million. The NBA’s Board of Governors will finalize the selling of the team, but it is unclear how long that will take. Jordan will keep minority stake of the team.
The group Jordan is selling to is led by Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall. Schnall has been a minority owner of the Atlanta Hawks since 2015 and is in the process of selling his ownership. Since 2019 Plotkin has been a minority stakeholder in the Hornets according to the NBA.

The Hornets went 423-600 during the Jordan Era. They never won a playoff series and have not been to the playoffs since 2016.
