There’s lots of attention on the WNBA right now, and Angel Reese is among the WNBA rookies breaking records. All of this season’s rookies are superstars, including Reese, Caitlin Clark, Cameron Brink and more, and their stardom is making the WNBA one of the hottest tickets.

The Chicago Sky didn’t overcome the Seattle Storm, instead falling at home, 77 to 68. But, for Reese, the game actually marked the first double-double of her WNBA career. She closed out the game scoring 11 points and having a WNBA career-high 12 rebounds. Reese is also currently leading the WNBA in offensive rebounds per game. Here’s where she’s breaking records and making history: Reese is now only the third player in WNBA history to snag at least 15 offensive rebounds in their initial three games. So, even though the Sky lost in their home court, at least locals got to see a riveting game from Reese and some fun with breaking records.
The WNBA season is in full swing, and plenty of the rookies are showing promise. It’s been a slightly rough start for Clark, but fans should remember that she got picked by the team with the worst record in the WNBA, the Indiana Fever, so it’s not like her team is going to be winning every game. The good news is that Clark and the Fever are starting to rebound, and they’re becoming more competitive.
So, how are the star rookies doing a few weeks into the season? In the new WNBA power rankings from SBNation.com, they put Clark as the No. 2 WNBA rookie right now. “For all the discourse around her early struggles, Caitlin Clark has still been impactful in the early days of her pro career as she adjusts to life as a starting point guard in the WNBA,” they write. “Clark is leading all rookies in scoring by nearly 5 points, and is also the second-leading rebounder among first-year players.” They have Reese just below Clark at No. 3, pointing out that many people thought Reese would have a difficult time adjusting to the pros, but she’s proving them wrong. For No. 1, they have Cameron Brink of the Los Angeles Sparks, who was drafted second overall. “Brink is averaging 10.8 points on 53.8% shooting, most recently capped by a 21-point, 7-12 shooting performance,” they note, adding that she’s also the league leader in blocks, with 3.2. So, it appears Brink is sparking some excitement in Sparks fans.
