Union County Restaurant Hosting Cocktail Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Originally reported by NJBIZ, during October, Bernadette’s, in Scotch Plains is raising a glass to bring awareness to breast cancer.
Every Wednesday and Thursday for the remainder of October from 5 pm to 6 pm the bar is going to feature breast cancer-themed cocktails.
40% of the proceeds from the purchased drinks will go to The Pink Fund, which is a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to breast cancer patients.
The restaurant is owned by Melody Degaetano, and she told NJBIZ “As a woman-owned and operated restaurant, we understand the importance of community and support, especially during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer is a cause close to my heart; I’ve seen firsthand the impact it has on women and their families, whether through my own experiences or those of loved ones.”
Degaetano added, “While this cause is serious, we believe in celebrating life and resilience with a touch of fun! Our special bar menu features playful cocktails to celebrate the incredible strength and resilience of those affected by the disease, while also raising funds to the fight against it.”
