2 Northeast Cities Named the Coolest Cities in America
If you live in a cool city, then you have bragging rights. As it turns out, two Northeast cities have been named among the coolest in America. So, what makes a city cool? In my opinion, when I think of a cool city, I think of a place with awesome things to do, such as a great music and entertainment scene. A cool city also has unique places to visit and spots you won’t find anywhere else. A cool city is different and stands out from the rest, in a good way. Of course, great food is a big part of being a hip city. Chain restaurants are fine, but the coolest cities have local dining options that are all their own.
Northeast Cities Named One of the Coolest Cities
Forbes has a new feature out about the coolest cities in America, noting these places have great “culture, food, nightlife and environmental sustainability.” They sourced Canada Sports Betting, noting, that “the site analyzed 50 of the largest cities in the U.S. and Canada using eight overarching categories, from lifestyle and recreation to media coverage,” adding that the editors and experts in the report “then drilled into 19 metrics, which were weighted and rated based on a 100-point scale” on “cool” factors, such as “the number of breweries in the city, the number of Instagram posts with the hashtag of the city mentioned.”
So, what’s the No. 1 coolest city in the country? According to their experts, it’s a Northeast city: New York City. “New York City gained its place at the top of the rankings due to its global influence, being the number one most Instagrammed city on the list, due to its iconic skyline and impressive number of historical landmarks (803),” the authors of the report wrote, per Forbes. They also said the Big Apple was the most “innovate” spot and a great area for “music and arts.” That’s not to mention sports. The No. 2 city on the tally was Washington, D.C., followed by Los Angeles. For Washington, D.C., the writes note it stands out because of its history and historic monuments, which totally makes sense.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, came in at No. 10 on the tally as the Pennsylvania city, and it really impressed the editors. With the fall season here, Pennsylvania offers lots of fall fun. The Visit Pennsylvania site boasts about fall in the Keystone State, stating “We can’t explain it, but the apples are crisper. Pumpkins more pickable. The fall foliage more brilliant. Even the haunts are more haunted.”
