Matt Damon Calls Jimmy Kimmel ‘A Terrible Human Being’ Amid Years-Long ‘Feud’
Matt Damon attends the "AIR" world premiere during the 2023 SXSW Conference and Festivals at The Paramount Theater on March 18, 2023 in Austin, Texas. Jimmy Kimmel attends "OZARK: The Final Episodes" Los Angeles Special FYSEE Event at Netflix FYSEE At Raleigh Studios on June 05, 2022 in Los Angeles, California.
The ongoing 20-year “feud” between Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel shows no signs of slowing down. While attending the premiere of his new film, Air, Damon was asked about his years-long rivalry with the Jimmy Kimmel Live host.
When asked by ET Monday night (March 27) if he’d ever be interested in settling things with Kimmel and moving on, Damon exclaimed, “No, no, he’s an a–hole. Why would I ever do that?”
“He’s a terrible human being,” Damon stressed. “He’s a demonstrably bad man.” Speaking of the devil — or Kimmel, in this case — he was at the event. Damon took the opportunity to heckle Kimmel and yelled to him, “Hey! I’d love to take a picture with you but we ran out of time!”

Jimmy Kimmel has long ended every episode of his late-night show with the gag that he apologizes to Damon for running out of time, thus not being able to have him on as a guest. After Damon left, Kimmel took his turn with the publication and simply said: “You know, I don’t know who that was, but yeah, I heard him. He was loud.”
Even Deadline shared a photo of Air co-star and director, Ben Affleck, smack dab in the middle of the two as the “mediator.”
Today, Kimmel shared a post of Air on Instagram, featuring a very obvious doodle over one of the film’s stars. He captioned the post: “VERY excited to see most of the stars of #AirMovie this week.” He then listed that he was having Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, and Viola Davis appearing on his show for the remainder of the week, sans Damon.
When asked if they might ever reconcile on his show — or have an episode completely devoted to Damon — Kimmel shot the idea down. He said, “I just can’t imagine it happening. I really can’t. I think we have Ben [Affleck] on tomorrow, so we’ll have that, but that will be as close as we get.” Damon took over the late show ten years ago, and Affleck even managed to “sneak” him in under a huge jacket during an appearance seven years ago.
Air debuts in theaters and Prime Video on April 5. Watch the trailer below:
The Sexiest Men Alive From The Last 20 Years
Take a stroll through the last 20 years of People‘s Sexiest Men Alive. This year, the award went to Grey’s Anatomy‘s neurosurgeon Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd. The long-awaited title is something we look forward to every year, and this year’s choice has been worth the wait. The actor has never been given the title before, and with nearly 20 years of being television eye candy, the actor told the publication when he first heard the news, “I was completely shocked, and then I started laughing, like, this is a joke, right?” As for how his kids will respond, the Maine native insists they’re just going to make fun of him.
Humble Beginnings
Growing up in Maine, he recalled always having to be moving, so he took up a lot of sports like baseball, soccer, skiing, cycling.” The Ferrari actor had dyslexia, so he didn’t love school, and described himself as a “late bloomer.” In his youth, Dempsey joined a vaudeville troupe and rode a unicycle while juggling.
Now, the key is maturity and wisdom for the Can’t Buy Me Love alum. “You go through cycles of life, so you understand there are going to be high and low moments and what are the most important things. Everything else is a gift.” Despite his heartthrob status over the years, “I’m glad it’s happening at this point in my life,” he says of his new title.
