Tom Brady Likely Heading for Split from Gisele Bundchen
It appears that Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is heading to divorce court with wife Gisele Bundchen over their strained and very public marriage.
According to Page Six of the New York Post, Brady and Bundchen have reached out to divorce attorney’s, and have been separated for a couple months.
The off-the-field problems for the seven time Super Bowl Champion began last winter when he wavered on retiring from the NFL after his 22nd season. He initially stepped aside from the sport shortly after the Bucs were eliminated in the playoffs by the eventual Super Bowl Champion L.A. Rams.
Six weeks later Brady was back.
According to the Post, a source close to Bundchen claims that to pin the split on her disapproval of Brady’s unretirement is not 100 percent accurate.
“As with many marriages, it’s not just one thing. Gisele has made it clear that she worried about Tom playing football and that they had had many talks about it.”
Brady and Bundchen have two children together, along with Brady’s oldest son from his previous relationship with Blue Bloods actress Bridget Moynahan.
Brady’s Buc’s are 2-2 on the season having dropped its past two games at home to the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs. Brady has completed 68 percent of his passes for 1,058 yards, six touchdowns and one interception this season.
During training camp Brady stepped away from the team for 11-days for personal reasons. While rumors ran rampant on social media, it was reported that he was spending time with the family as a promise he made. Sports Illustrated reported before the season’s opening week that Brady is expected to hang up his shoulder pads for good after the season.
