Aaron Rodgers Signs Record Setting Contract
Aaron Rodgers went from being a guy who didn’t feel he got much love from the Green Bay Packers to getting all the love he could ask for in the form of the all mighty dollar.
Rodgers and the Packers agreed to a four-year $200 million deal that will make him the highest paid player in NFL history. He will also get a whopping $153 million in guaranteed money. Not bad.
The #Packers and MVP QB Aaron Rodgers have agreed to terms on a 4-year, $200M deal that makes him the highest paid player in NFL history, sources say. He gets a whopping $153M guaranteed and his cap number goes down. A monstrous commitment by GB for years to come. 💰 💰 💰

The return of Rodgers to Green Bay ends a year-long speculation that the future Hall of Famer wanted out of Green Bay after cryptically staying away from the teams facility last spring and early summer, and sending out the missives as training camp opened that he was not happy with the team’s direction, and didn’t feel he was involved in the organization’s future planning.
The speculation was so rampant that teams like the Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans were viewed as possible suitors for Rodgers.
Rodgers led the Packers to a 13-4 record in 2021 before the team was ousted in the divisional round by the San Francisco 49ers 13-10, thus ending a bizarre season where Rodgers expressed both anger and hope with the Packers. He even got into a public relations fight over his vaccination status against COVID-19.
But today, the soon-to-be-38-year old is even richer than any player in the League right now. His salary will be $50 million a year, which surpasses Patrick Mahomes’ $43 million annual salary he has from Kansas City. Buffalo’s Josh Allen comes in third at $43 million a year. Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is fourth at $40 million a year.
The top 12 highest paid players in the NFL are all quarterbacks. The highest paid non-quarterback is Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who makes $27.3 million annually.
Now that the Rodgers smoke has cleared — for now — the pressure will amped up even more on the Five-Time League MVP to get to and win his second Super Bowl in the coming seasons.
Who’s ready for Tom Brady un-retires watch, now?
