Louie Anderson, the Emmy Award-winning actor and stand-up comedian, has died. He was 68.

Anderson's death was confirmed to Deadline by his publicist Glenn Schwartz. His cause of death was due to Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, a type of blood cancer.

Anderson's stand-up career spanned four decades and also included a variety of acting credits including 1988's Coming to America and its sequel 2021's Coming 2 America. 

Anderson has won three Emmy Awards: Two Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program for Life with Louie, which ran for three seasons from 1994-1998, and one Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Baskets where he played Christine Baskets, the mother of Chip Baskets played by show co-creator Zach Galifianakis.
