Unable to rally from a large third quarter deficit, Rutgers women's basketball fell to Boston College 75-61 at the Conte Forum in Boston on Wednesday night, dropping RU's overall record to 4-5 on the year.

Rutgers opened the fourth quarter with a 10-0 run, highlighted by three-pointers from Abby Streeter and Kassondra Brown, but it was not enough to styme the Golden Eagles, who would build their lead back up to 21-points.

Boston College had set the tone early, jumping out to an 8-0 in the game's opening five minutes. Rutgers didn't score until the 7:17 mark of the first quarter. Rutgers would rally to cut the deficit down to two-points 22-20 at the end of the opening quarter, but Boston College would put together runs of 7-0, 7-1 and 11-0 to blow the game open by the late stages of the third quarter.

Leading the way for Rutgers was Antonia Bates who had a career high 12-points.

Streeter, Brown and Kaylene Smikle each had 11-points for Rutgers.

The Scarlet Knights return to Jersey Mike's Arena on Sunday against Ohio State at 12 noon.
