RUTGERS 76 - HAMPTON 68

Led by 19 points off the bench from Erica Lafayette, and a double-double by Chyna Cornwell,the Scarlet Knights defeated Hampton 76-68 at Jersey Mike's Arena on Saturday to snap a three-game losing skid. Rutgers improved to 5-7 overall on the season. They are 5-5 in non-conference action.

Cornwell had a huge night for Rutgers, contributing 18 points and 14 boards, her fourth double-double of the season, and second straight in consecutive games.

Awa Sidibe also contributed 12 points and nine rebounds for Rutgers. Of Lafayette's 19-points, she was a perfect 8-for-8 at the free throw line.

Raining First Quarter three's

Kai Carter and Abby Streeter both nailed huge three-pointers in the first quarter to help Rutgers build a 19-12 lead.

Kaylene Smikle drains a three

With Rutgers leading 21-18, Kaylene Smikle drained a three-pointer at the top of the key that pushed Rutgers out to a six-point lead, it's largest up to that point in the first half.

Lafayette Turns it on in Second Half

With Rutgers trailing 43-42, Erica Lafayette drained this huge three in the corner pocket to put RU up 45-43. They would never trail again.
