MARYLAND 37 - RUTGERS 0

Rutgers season concluded Saturday in bitter fashion with Maryland coming away with a 37-0 shutout of the Scarlet Knights on the last regular season Saturday of the college football season.

Rutgers concludes the season at 4-8 and 1-8 in the Big Ten, their worst finish in-conference since 2019. The last time Rutgers finished a season are 4-8 was 2017.

Maryland thoroughly dominated the game, out-gaining Rutgers 513 to 135 in total offense. In fact Rutgers was held to a grand total of 72-net yards passing on Saturday.

Quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa had a huge day for Maryland, tossing for 342 yards and a touchdown. He also had 23 yards on the ground.

Maryland receiver Jeshaun Jones was impossible to stop, hauling in nine catches for 152 yards and a touchdown.

Maryland running back Roman Hemby (19 carries, 73 yards) had three rushing touchdowns that helped the Terrapins build a 24-0 lead midway through the third quarter.

Greg Schiano vowed in his postgame press conference that things will turn around as he and his coaching staff prepare to move forward toward next year.

Rutgers football returns next September 2 against Northwestern at SHI Stadium.
