The Rutgers Scarlet Knights play host to the Nebraska Cornhuskers in a critical Big Ten match-up Friday night at SHI Stadium in Piscataway.

Rutgers has a lot riding on this one. The Scarlet Knights have lost 20 straight to Big Ten opponents at home, and would love nothing better than to end that skid at home in front of another sold out crowd. In addition, Rutgers is calling this the “Blackout” game as the team will wear full black uniforms and helmets. Fans are encouraged to wear black as well.

Rutgers is sitting a 3-2 on the season and 0-2 in the Big Ten, at a critical juncture in their season. Not only is Rutgers trying get closer to bowl eligibility, but they are trying to keep pace with the likes of Michigan, Penn State and Ohio State atop the Big Ten East standings.

Rutgers is 0-5 lifetime against the Cornhuskers. Things could change tonight as Nebraska itself is going through a turbulent season with changes to its coaching staff due to the firing of Scott Frost after three weeks. Tonight’s game is a great opportunity for the Scarlet Knights to flex their defensive muscle and spread offense.

Catch all the action tonight on Fox Sports New Jersey beginning at 4:30 p.m. with the Rutgers Tailgate Show with Anthony Fuccilli, followed by GameDay with Dom Savino, and the pregame show at 6 p.m. Kick-off at 7. Only 93.5 FM, 1450 AM>
