ASTROS 5 - PHILLIES 2 - Series tied at 1-1

There was no wild comeback this time for the Philadelphia Phillies. The Houston Astros jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first inning and made it stand up, holding on for a 5-2 victory in Game 2 of the World Series.

Houston jumped all over Phillies starting pitcher Zach Wheeler, tagging him for three runs in the bottom of the first inning as Jeremy Pena and Yordan Alvarez each drove in runs. Alvarez also scored an a fielding error to push across the third run of the inning.

Alex Bregman would later crack a two-run homer in the fifth to help Houston build a 5-0 lead. Jose Altuve, who struggled in the playoffs, went 3-for-4 with a run scored for the Astros as well.

All the offense went to the good of Astros starting pitcher Framber Valdez, who held Philadelphia to a run on four hits over 6.1 innings of work. He struck out nine batters and walked three.

The series shifts to Philadelphia on Monday.
