The NFC East is going to be featured prominently next weekend when the Divisional playoffs kick-off thanks to the Dallas Cowboys decimating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-14, while possibly sending 7-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady into retirement (more on that later).

With the Cowboys advancing to the divisional round where they will visit the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night at 6:30, that means three of the four teams from the NFC East are still playing football deep into mid-to-late January.

The highlight of course being the collision course between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles swept the Giants during the regular season, but this is a much different Giants team than the club the Eagles faced in early December. (Let’s not count their battle in Week 18, since Big Blue trotted out its B-squad that afternoon with the playoff spot already clinched).

The team the Eagles faced in early December was in the midst of losing four of five. Since that time the Giants have won three-of-five, including taking care of the Minnesota Vikings 31-24 in the Wild Card game.

Daniel Jones completed 25-of-31 passes for 301 yards and two scores that afternoon. He even ran for 78-yards, and has totally changed the narrative about his career in the eyes of many.

Meanwhile over in the AFC, the Bengals and Bills meet up on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. These same two teams meet four weeks ago on Monday night football during the game Damar Hamlin collapsed with cardiac arrest. Hamlin has since returned home, and even visited teammates. Who knows if he will show up at the Stadium on Sunday, but it sure to be a wild atmosphere regardless.

Finally the Chiefs and Jaguars face off in the early window at 4:30 on Saturday as Trevor Lawrence and Patrick Mahomes meet for the first time.

  • Is this the end of Tom Brady?

Brady thanked the media for their coverage of his time in Tampa Bay. After a bizzare year that saw Brady’s marriage crumble, his finances take a huge hit thanks to the FTX scandal, coupled with the Buccaneers awful play all year, nobody would be shocked if he retired. Then again, this is Tom Bardy, he might re-surface elsewhere. Perhaps Miami? New Orleans? San Francisco (if they aren’t sold on Brock Purdy at this point). Who knows, but we will probably have to wait for a decision on Brady’s future.
