KNICKS 102 – CAVS 93

If there is one thing they love on Broadway it is a big finish. And that is exactly what the New York Knicks gave their fans at Madison square Garden on Sunday afternoon in a 102-93 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. New York now leads the series 3-1 with a chance to close it out Wednesday night.

After holding a nine-point lead at the break, the Knicks watched the Cavs storm back in the third quarter to take a 69-67 lead with 3:32 to go in the third quarter. It looked like Cleveland was setting things up for the upset, until the Knicks put an end to the hysteria right then and there.

R.J. Barrett connected on a free-throw and seconds later drained a bucket to put the Knicks back in front 70-69. The Knicks were back in action.

Jalen Brunson brought the MSG crowd to its feet when he nailed a long distance jumper that put New York up 73-71 at the end of the quarter, and the momentum quickly, and firmly slided back to the Knicks.

The Knicks dominated both sides of the floor in the fourth quarter. The Cavs were only 8-of-18 from the field, 1-of-8 from downtown in the quarter. The Knicks were incredible in the fourth quarter, missing only one shot inside the paint and draining a pair of three’s.

A lot of it is credit to Brunson and Barrett who traded buckets for most of the quarter. brunson’s 25-foot three ball blew the doors off at 84-77.

It was cruise control the rest of the way, as the Garden sounded like the glory days of the 90s as the Knicks ran away with it.
