KNICKS 111 – HEAT 105
It wasn’t pretty, but the New York Knicks found a way to hold off a Jimmy Butler-less Miami Heat team 111-105 at Madison Square Garden to even up the best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinals series at a game a piece.
In fact, for a while it looked like Miami would find away to run away from New York with a 2-0 series edge. The Heat led at the half 54-51; and, led by as many as six points, 93-87, with seven minutes to go in the game when Caleb Martin sank a 26-foot three-pointer.

Give the Knicks credit for fighting back, especially Jalen Brunson, who led the way with 30-points. His 23-foot three pointer, and step-back jumper tied the game at 93. After a series of free throws by Gabe Vincent gave Miami a brief three-point lead, Josh Hart (14 points, 11 rebounds) and Brunson sank back-to-back three-pointers for the Knicks to swing New York back in front 99-96 with 4:07 to go.
After Martin missed a chance at tying the game on a three-point attempt, Brunson connected on a driving floater to give the Knicks a five-point advantage.
Finally Josh Hart got into the action, nailing a three, and connecting on three free-throw attempts to help New York pull away.
