Arcangelo Wins Belmont Propels Jena Antonucci to Historic Feat

History was made on a beautiful day at the Belmont Stakes as Arcangelo took the final leg of this year's Triple Crown, while making New York native Jena Antonucci the first woman trainer to win the Belmont in its 155 year history. Not only was it a historic victory for Antonucci, it was the first Belmont Stakes victory for jockey Javier Castellano, who won the Kentucky Derby six weeks ago aboard Mage. Now Castellano can say he's won all three legs of the Triple Crown. He's won the Preakness in 2016 and 2017. As for Antonucci she became only the 11th woman to field a horse in the Belmont in its history. She has been a head trainer of horses since 2010, and owns 160 victories in her career. This of course is the signature win. https://twitter.com/FOXSports/status/1667672373305176067?s=20 Arcangelo rode an incredible race. With Castellano guiding him, he was up against the rail against Preakness winner National Treasure right up until the top of the stretch. Once he started to peel away from Treasure, Arcangelo started sprinting down the stretch. Forte (the Belmont Favorite) and Tapit Trice starting catching up and made things very interesting, but Arcangelo had enough in the tank to hold them all off. https://twitter.com/FOXSports/status/1667670914840895495?s=20 [select-am am_id="69584" syndication_name="you-wont-believe-how-cool-this-ted-lasso-merchandise-is"]
