Shohei Ohtani’s achievements are astonishing. He easily secured the 2025 National League MVP title. This win is his fourth MVP overall, along with consecutive NL honors. With all 30 first-place votes, he matches Barry Bonds as the only player with four unanimous MVPs, being just the second to achieve this in five years.
Ohtani hit a record 55 homers for the Dodgers, and his dual role as a hitter and a pitcher after elbow surgery characterized his exceptional season. He posted a postseason pitching record of 2–1, demonstrating his skill on the mound.
The standout player became the first to win multiple MVP titles in both the American and National Leagues. While Frank Robinson shares the distinction, Ohtani is unique with four MVPs overall. His AL victories were in 2021 and 2023.
As the first Dodgers player to win consecutive MVPs, Ohtani joins Roy Campanella with multiple awards for the team. Notably, he’s the only one to earn these consecutively for Los Angeles.
His 2025 achievements, highlighted by his NLCS MVP award, propelled the Dodgers to their second consecutive World Series title. During that postseason, Ohtani hit eight homers and showcased dominance by striking out ten batters in critical games.
He also contributed to the team in the World Series, hitting two homers in a thrilling 18-inning Game 3 against the Blue Jays, securing the Dodgers' victory.
Phillies’ Kyle Schwarber and Mets’ Juan Soto took second and third in NL MVP voting. Ohtani’s unanimous selection highlighted his dominance.
