Jose Trevino and Starling Marte both made rehab appearances in Somerset on Sunday night, as the Double-A affiliates of the New York Yankees and Mets met up for the final time this season in New Jersey.

For Somerset it was a series they'd like to soon forget, as Binghamton came away with four wins out of five games. Friday's game was rained out and will be made up in Binghamton in September.

Sunday's results were a bitter 6-4 loss for Somerset that dropped the Patriots to 21-17 in the second half, and 4.5 games out of first place.

Somerset found itself down 3-0 in the first inning, before inching its way back thanks to solo homers by Spencer Jones and Jesus Rodriguez. Somerset finally tied the game at three on Alexander Vargas' seventh inning triple.

Fast forward to the ninth inning, and the Patriots bullpen couldn't slow down the Mets prospects. Binghamton rallied for three-runs, highlighted by Matt Rudick's three-run bomb to put the Rumble Ponies in front 6-3.

The home was Rudick's only at bat on the night after he came in for Marte in the middle of the ballgame.

JOSE TREVINO and STARLING MARTE

Trevino who has been coming back from a quad injury officially went 0-for-1 with a walk in two plate appearances. He also caught starter Ben Shields, who gave up three runs over 4.1 innings of work for Somerset.

As for Marte, the Mets outfielder has been on the mend from a nagging knee injury for the past two months. The Mets are hopeful he returns this week while the Amazin's host the Oakland A's. Marte went 0-for-2 with a walk and strikeout.

FINAL JERSEY DINER NIGHT

Sunday's contest was the final Jersey Diners night of the season for Somerset. The Patriots introduced the neon-blue and pink jersey's during the winter, and the response has been a resounding success. A sellout crowd of 7,917 packed into TD Bank Ballpark to enjoy not only the Double-A Subway Series, but the emanates of Diner night at the ballpark.
