Boxing is hot right now, and one major Las Vegas boxing fight is coming up fast. This year has already brought plenty of good fights. One big one happened just last weekend, when Canelo Alvarez retained his super middleweight crown against Jaime Munguia. It was a completely unanimous win, and it was also an important one for the champion. Now, fans want Alvarez to fight one top guy, but nothing has been set in stone. That guy does have a fight coming up in Las Vegas, though.

Previewing the June Las Vegas Boxing Fight

Fans want to see Canelo Alvarez take on David Benavidez, "The Mexican Monster." So far, Alvarez hasn't expressed any interest in doing so. He seems dead set against the idea. But, money talks, so it could very well happen. After Alvarez's big win in Las Vegas last weekend, he told reporters, "If the money's right … I can fight [Benavidez] right now." He added, "It's only a matter of money at this point. Everybody is asking for everything." He also said, "When I fought [Erislandy] Lara, Austin Trout, Miguel Angel Cotto, [Floyd] Mayweather, Billy Joe Saunders, GGG, everybody said I don't want to fight them, and I fought all of them. So right now … I can do whatever I want." He also said that he would do the fight for $150 million to $200 million.

Benavídez vs. Gvozdyk and Davis vs. Martin

Hopefully the Alvarez vs. Benavidez fight will happen. Before then, Benavidez has a Las Vegas boxing fight set for June 15. David "El Monstruo" Benavídez will make his 175-pound debut and take on former light heavyweight world champion Oleksandr "The Nail" Gvozdyk. This matchup is for the Interim WBC Light Heavyweight Title, and it's the co-main event. Benavidez father, Jose Benavidez Sr., has something to say about it, too. "This is a tough fight. We’re fighting a guy with only one loss [Oleksandr Gvozdyk], and he was an Olympian and ex-champion," Benavidez Sr. said to Fight Hub TV about his son's fight against the former WBC light heavyweight champion. I enjoy boxing, and my dad was a boxer, so I'll be watching.

That same night, undefeated three-division world champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis will fight to defend his WBA Lightweight World Title against the undefeated Frank "The Ghost" Martin. What makes this fight special is that Davis hasn't fought since taking down Ryan Garcia in April 2023. Now, he's up against another tough, undefeated opponent. The fights will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Both fights will be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video via PPV. Experts and enthusiasts say both Las Vegas boxing fights should be close.
