Another week, another key player lost for the year with an Achilles Tendon injury for the New York Jets.

Offensive lineman Alijah Vera Tucker is out for the remainder of the season with a torn Achilles Tendon, an injury he suffered in Sunday's 31-21 victory over the Denver Broncos.

Ironically, it is the second straight year that Vera Tucker has been lost for the year with a devastating injury. In each case it came during game in Denver. Last year, AVT was lost for the year after suffering a torn triceps tendon injury in the second quarter of a 16-9 Jets win.

To lose Vera Tucker in the same stadium, against the same opponent, in the same quarter, almost exactly a year to the day is just too eerie for words.

It is almost as eerie as Aaron Rodgers popping his Achilles Tendon on opening night, just moments after standing next to Vinny Testaverde, who suffered the same fate in the Jets opener 24 years earlier.

REPLACING AVT:

The Jets will likely play Max Mitchell at right tackle for the time being with AVT out. Mitchell played the rest of the game Sunday at the position, and played fairly well. It will be interesting to see what the Jets do when, and if, Duane Brown returns from injury. Would the Jets move Mekhi Becton back to right tackle and play Brown at left tackle?

Vera Tucker's injury comes at a bad time for the Jets, who will face the NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

The Eagles are first in the League in rushing yards allowed, surrendering only 61 yards per game.
