Jets’ Alijah Vera Tucker Lost for the Season with Torn Achilles

Another week, another key player lost for the year with an Achilles Tendon injury for the New York Jets.
Offensive lineman Alijah Vera Tucker is out for the remainder of the season with a torn Achilles Tendon, an injury he suffered in Sunday’s 31-21 victory over the Denver Broncos.
Ironically, it is the second straight year that Vera Tucker has been lost for the year with a devastating injury. In each case it came during game in Denver. Last year, AVT was lost for the year after suffering a torn triceps tendon injury in the second quarter of a 16-9 Jets win.
To lose Vera Tucker in the same stadium, against the same opponent, in the same quarter, almost exactly a year to the day is just too eerie for words.
It is almost as eerie as Aaron Rodgers popping his Achilles Tendon on opening night, just moments after standing next to Vinny Testaverde, who suffered the same fate in the Jets opener 24 years earlier.
REPLACING AVT:
The Jets will likely play Max Mitchell at right tackle for the time being with AVT out. Mitchell played the rest of the game Sunday at the position, and played fairly well. It will be interesting to see what the Jets do when, and if, Duane Brown returns from injury. Would the Jets move Mekhi Becton back to right tackle and play Brown at left tackle?
Vera Tucker’s injury comes at a bad time for the Jets, who will face the NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
The Eagles are first in the League in rushing yards allowed, surrendering only 61 yards per game.

The great George Costanza once stated, “I don’t think I’ve ever been to an appointment in my life where I didn’t hope the other guy wouldn’t show up.” That quote has long stuck with me because he’s absolutely right and I feel the same way. Plans are great, but you know what’s even better? Staying home. Here are 10 great gift ideas for men who love staying home.
I think we’re long past the stigma of a homebody being a hermit. There used to be this general idea that there was something strange or weird about someone who never left the house and stayed home all day. Now, I think I’m actually jealous of a person who gets to stay home all day. There’s no place on earth where we feel more comfortable, we don’t have to deal with other people, and we can wear our raggedy sweatpants that we aren’t allowed to leave the house in. That’s living, baby!
Hey, aren’t you going to miss out on date nights? What about going out to eat? Well, who says you can’t do all of those things from the comfort of your own home? It is 2023, after all. Thanks to technology, there are now things we can do at home that we wouldn’t have been able to do five or ten years ago. Our home can now be a fancy restaurant, a movie theater, or whatever we may want it to be. It’s all possible.
