The final score read Rutgers 52, Wagner 3. And in so doing, the Scarlet Knights secured their best start to a season in nine years, as Rutgers improved to 4-1 on the season with the bulk of the Big Ten schedule starring them right in the face.

Rutgers rolled over the Seahawks with 436 yards of offense, including 267 yards on the ground. Rutgers had 28 first downs in the contest to just six by Wagner.

It was total domination.

Five different Rutgers players had a rushing touchdown in the victory, including two rushing scores by quarterback Gavin Wimsatt. Wimsatt had 22 yards on seven carries on the ground, and was 12-of-19 for 146 yards and a touchdown throw the air.

Wimsatt's four-yard touch pass to Christian Dremel gave Rutgers an early 10-0 lead in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, it was a huge day for wide receiver JaQuae Jackson who had four receptions for 71-yards, which included a nifty diving catch in the middle of the field.

Moreover, it was a great moment for lineman Reggie Sutton, who got a chance to play for the first time in two years after battling injury. Head Coach Greg Schiano called it awesome. "He inspires us all. It was awesome," he said.

At 4-1, the Scarlet Knights are right in the thick of the Big Ten East Division.
