Jets fans are historically an ornery lot. But, on Sunday as Gang Green slipped and slid to a 15-10 loss to the New England Patriots, the world was on fire for Jets fans.

Why? Because quarterback Zach Wilson again struggled under center. It has been three years and the results are very much the same. Happy feet in the pocket. Zeroing in on one target downfield. Holding the ball too long. The offensive line breaks down, and either a turnover happens or a dreary incompletion follows.

While Wilson didn't turn the football over, he was ineffective in completing 18 of 36 passes for 157 yards. He was sacked three times, including a safety. He even infamously sacked himself at one point when he collapsed to the ground when nobody touched him.

WILSON'S TEAMMATES:

Jets fans weren't the only ones losing their minds. Wilson's teammates were losing their cool too. Wide receiver Garrett Wilson was seen screaming at Wilson on the sideline while running back Michael Carter was yelling at his position coach.

JOE NAMATH SOUNDS OFF:

Even Jets legend Joe Namath had enough of Wilson's on-field inconsistency. The Super Bowl III MVP criticized Wilson's play numerous times on X and even questioned the job status of Head Coach Robert Saleh and GM Joe Douglas.

ANGRY FANS

Fans who bought tickets to the game, and sat in the downpour of tropical storm Ophelia as it slammed New Jersey were visibly frustrated. Many sat in their seats stone-faced, others were seen screaming like one old gentleman who lost his dentures in the process.

To make matters worse, when pressed by the media after the game, Head Coach Robert Saleh said the Jets plan to stick with Wilson. Moreover there were reports earlier Sunday via FOX Sports insider Jay Glazer that quarterback Matt Ryan and Carson Wentz contacted the Jets with interest in joining the team. The Jets declined their offers.

Yup, it sucks to be a Jets fan.
