New York Yankees Skipper Aaron Boone Becomes Instant Meme for Ejection

Yankees skipper Aaron Boone was tossed yet again, and this time it was in epic fashion.

Boone was ejected in the top of the eighth inning by home plate umpire Laz Diaz, after arguing a called third strike on shortstop Anthony Volpe.

Boone and Diaz were both yelling at each other in an epic tirade that featured the Yankees manager drawing a line in the dirt of the batters’ box, before doing his own impression of Diaz’s strike three call.

Let’s just say the impression was more than spot on.

Boone’s epic strike-three pose caught the internet by storm. Soon memes started pouring all over social media. Here are a few.

Is the Dab still a thing?

Apparently, Aaron Boone is in Robin Hood or the Hunger Games, or both…

To his credit, Boone spoke to Jomboy Media about the ejection on Tuesday morning.

“It was one just one of those that kinda brewed all game. I just went out there,” Boone said. The manager then claimed he was trying to lower the temperature in the room with Diaz.

“I was actually trying to bring it down a couple of times, and Laz was giving it back to me pretty hard.”

Ejection History:

The ejection of Boone on Monday night was the sixth time this year he has been ejected. That lead’s all managers in the American League.

The six ejections tie Boone with Cincinnati Reds skipper David Bell for the Major League lead.

In fairness to the Yankees skipper, he has reason to be frustrated. The Yankees are in last place in the American League East with a record of 58-55 and are struggling to keep pace in the Wild Card.

The Yankees continue their series with the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night. Will we see an encore?

  15-foot-high and 56-foot-long replica of an 1862 steam locomotive goes for a ride each time the Astros hit a home run. Sitting 90 feet above the field, you will hear this train go for a 40 second ride back and forth. This area of the park used to be Union Station, which is why the train was brought in as an attraction in 2000. It is driven by Bobby Dynamite.

  Along the main concourse in center field, there’s the Bobblehead Museum at loanDepot Park in Miami. This is the home of over 500 bobbleheads that are enclosed behind glass.
