Yankees Promote Austin Wells to Triple-A
Austin Wells is moving on up.
The Yankees No. 2 prospect was promoted to Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre on Friday night before the Somerset Patriots contest against the Hartford Yard Goats.

The news comes after catcher Jose Trevino was scheduled to undergo season ending wrist surgery.
Jose Trevino needs season-ending wrist surgery. Said that his wrist has been an issue dating back to spring training. He thought he could play through the pain, but it has reached a point where he needs to get it fixed. Expects to be ready for spring training 2024.

Wells, a Las Vegas native, had a stellar stay in Somerset the past two seasons. In 113 games with Somerset, Wells collected 109 hits, drove in 93 RBI and blasted 23 homers.
He played an integral part of the 2022 Eastern League Championship team, hitting .261 with 55 hits, eight doubles, 12 homers and 43 RBI.
This year Wells led the Patriots in RBI (50), and led Somerset with most multi-RBI games (14) and is tied for fourth in multi-hit games (13).
