Boone Tossed For Fifth Time As Yanks Lose to Cards
A Major League leading fifth ejection was in the cards for Yankees skipper Aaron Boone, as the Yankees lost to the Cardinals 5-1 on get-away day in St. Louis.
Boone was tossed in the top of the third inning after arguing balls and strikes during an at bat for Gleyber Torres.

At issue for the Yankees skipper was a pitch on 3-1 to D.J. LeMahieu in the previous at bat. Boone was arguing then, and eventually Plate Umpire Dan Merzel had heard enough to give Boone the good ‘ole heave-ho.
Boone has developed a reputation to get ejected. He was tossed nine times last season which led all of Major League Baseball in 2022.
As for the game, the Yankees were bested by the Cardinals 5-1, as former Yankees pitcher Jordan Montgomery enacted some vengeance tossing 6.2 shutout innings against the Bombers.
It is the first series loss for the Yankees since they were swept in a double-header by the Boston Red Sox on June 18.
