Four NFL Players Suspended for Gambling Violations
The NFL suspended two members of the Indianapolis Colts, one member of the Tennessee Titans, and a free agent defensive lineman for gambling on NFL games last season.
The perpetrators include: Isaiah Rodgers and Rashod Berry of the Colts, both will be suspended indefinitely for betting on NFL games last season. Tennessee Titans tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere was also suspended, as was free agent Demetrius Taylor.
After the NFL announced their suspension the Colts without hesitation waived Rodgers and Berry.

According to ESPN: Rodgers placed over 100 bets, including one game involving the Colts.
The most money he bet would be between $25 to $50. He even put down a bet of $1,000 on the Colts rushing yards and won.
The NFL investigated to see if there was any foul play in the game and there was not. Rodgers has acknowledged and said he takes “full responsibility” for his actions.
As for Berry, he joined the Colts last season after spending time on the Jacksonville practice squad. ESPN did not immediately report his infractions.
Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere was suspended by the NFL for six games for betting on other sports in the workplace.
There are six key rules to the gambling policy that will be emphasized:
- Don’t bet on the NFL.
- Don’t gamble at your team facility, while traveling for a road game or staying at a team hotel.
- Don’t have someone bet for you.
- Don’t share team “inside information.”
- Don’t enter a sportsbook during the NFL season.
- Don’t play daily fantasy football.
