Rutgers star forward Caleb McConnell agreed to an Exhibit-10 contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday morning after going un-drafted in the NBA Draft, Thursday night.

An exhibit-10 contract is a one-year deal that pays a minimum salary in the NBA and gives a franchise flexibility to change it into a two-way contract before the start of the regular season.

Ron Harper Jr. made a similar pact with the Toronto Raptors last summer when he went un-drafted. Harper would up playing in nine games for Toronto his rookie year this past season.

McConnell's career at Rutgers is legendary. Just look at the accolades as listed out by Rutgers Athletics.

  •  Tracked down the great Eddie Jordan's 220 career steals with two steals in his final game at RU.
  •  Played in 142 games and started 92 as a Scarlet Knight.
  • Scored 972 points, had 263 assists, and scored 264 field goals while shooting 39 percent.
  • First player in Rutgers history to win the national defensive player of the year award twice this season when he won the 2023 Lefty Driesell Award and the 2022-23 ESPN College Gameday National Defensive Player of the Year Award.
  • First player in Rutgers history to win an individual season award in the Big Ten Conference when he was awarded the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 2022 and 2023.
  • A top-4 finalist for the 2022-23 Naismith National Defensive Player of the Year Award.
  • Member of the Julius Erving Award watch list this preseason, given to the best small forward in the country.
