Richard Fitts was fantastic once again.

The Yankees number eight prospect fanned 10 batters over eight brilliant innings and the Bronx Bomber Double-A affiliate, Somerset Patriots defeated the Colorado Rockies Double-A affiliate, Hartford Yard Goats 5-2 on Saturday night.

Fitts' efforts matched career highs for inning's pitched and strikeouts. He last tossed eight innings last August for High-A Hudson Valley.

The 10 strikeouts matched a career high Fits set earlier this year on April 12 against Binghamton.

According to the Somerset Patriots press release: "Fitts becomes the third Patriots starter this week to set or match his career-high number of strikeouts (Clayton Beeter, 11 and Blane Abeyta, 11). All five Patriots starters set or matched season-highs in strikeouts."

Meanwhile T.J. Rumfield crushed his third home run of the week. to help propel the Patriots offense. Anthony Siegler also crushed his first home run in Double-A in the fourth inning.

The victory secures a winning series for the Patriots. The Patriots and Yard Goats wrap up the week long series on Sunday.
