New York Yankees outfielder/DH Giancarlo Stanton is scheduled to make a rehab assignment with the Somerset Patriots on Tuesday, May 30 when the Patriots open up a six-game series with the Portland SeaDogs.
Stanton has missed over a month with a hamstring strain.
Stanton last played in a Major League game on April 15 against the Minnesota Twins. He was hitting .269 with four homers and 11 RBI.
The 33-year old All-Star rehabbed with the Patriots last season, playing in two games, and garnering seven at bats. He had no hits and three strikeouts.
Stanton won’t be alone apparently. According to a Tweet by the Patriots, reliever Tommy Khanle and third baseman Josh Donaldson are also scheduled to rehab with Somerset on Tuesday. So it’s gonna be a Bronx feel to the lineup.
