Umpire Pulls Off Rescue After Youth Is Caught In A Dustnado

During baseball games anything can happen, from unexpected weather conditions to animals running the bases, to even funny/cringey moments between the fans and players. While most of these things are harmless, sometimes the unexpected can be dangerous. Well a hero stepped up when a sudden ‘dustando’ hit home-plate.

The video was posted on Twitter by JomBoy Media showing the shift action of an Umpire. Who leapt into danger and saved a Youth Baseball Player who was in the middle of a ferocious wind.

Reports say the weather had be relatively fine up until the forth inning when the wind picked up. It was this quick action of this 7U youth baseball umpire that kept the boy from being harmed. While it may not be as scary as a actual tornado, they still pose a danger to those who get caught in one.

The ‘Dustnado’ was ejected from the game quickly following the incident and thankfully nobody was seriously injured. The game was taking place in Florida. While some on social media are making light of the incident, some are praising the umpire for a job well done.

Six Reasons NOT to Give Up on the Mets Just Yet

Don’t give up on those Amazin’s just yet.

Yes, it has been a very frustrating start to the season for the Mets. They are right now tied for third place with the Miami Marlins (THE MIAMI MARLINS!!). Their pitching has been suspect, and the offense hasn’t really caught fire … yet.

However, what we have seen from the Mets so far in this four-game series in Washington D.C. should leave a glimmer of hope for Mets fans that the Amazin’s could make something out of this lackadaisical season so far.

  • 1: Eight-Run Fifth Inning on Sunday

    We have been waiting for the Mets to catch fire offensively. They took advantage of a bad Washington team in the second game of double-header, scoring a season best eight runs in the fifth inning. The Mets used a combination of small ball and timely hitting to get it done.

  • 2: Max Scherzer Looked Good

    The Mets have been waiting for Max Scherzer to return to his old form for a long time. He has been battling injuries all season long, and has not looked like himself since the middle of last year. He was solid enough on Sunday, holding the Nats to a run over five innings of work. The hope is he can get rolling and avoid any more injuries.

  • 3: Marte and Canha Finally Delivered on Sunday

    One reason the 2022 Mets had so much success was because Starling Marte and Mark Canha regularly delivered with big hits. This year both have been pretty silent. That changed this weekend. Marte is riding a four game hitting streak now after a 2-for-4 day with 2 RBI in the nightcap. Canha is riding a three-game hitting streak after a three-hit day in the second game, Sunday.

  • 4: Carlos Carrasco Has Looked Good in Rehab Starts

    I know some will say it was Double-A, but Carlos Carrasco looked solid in two rehab outings, his latest against the Hartford Yardgoats produced a two-hit shutout over four innings. The Mets would love to see Carrasco comeback and look like the pitcher they once thought they were getting when the acquired him in the Francisco Lindor trade.

  • 5: Francisco Lindor Starting to HEAT UP

    Francisco Lindor is showing signs of coming out of his season-long funk. He had three RBI in the Mets 3-2 win over Washington on Friday, he had two hits and an RBI on Sunday. Aside from Brandon Nimmo, nobody has hit consistently in the Mets lineup. If Lindor starts doing just that, the Mets chances of winning games only increases. He has hit safely in five of the Mets six games on this trip thus far. The Mets are 3-2 in those five games.

  • 6: The NL East Isn't Going Anywhere

    Yes, the Atlanta Braves are in first place, but they have lost four in a row. The Mets are now 5.5 games back, and only a half game out of second place after Philly’s loss to Colorado. Everyone in this division is fairly mediocre — outside of Atlanta, of course. Not to mention with the Pirates and Diamondbacks finally hitting a wall, the Wild Card, of course is always very much in play. It’s a marathon, not a sprint as the Mets found out last season.
