Wells Goes Long in Front of Sold Out Somerset Crowd
Austin Wells went yard, and Clayton Beeter dominated on the mound once again in front of a sold out crowd at TD Bank Ballpark on a chilly Friday night in Somerset. The Patriots won 2-0, improving to a season best six-games above .500 at 15-9.
Wells provided the fireworks in the eighth inning when he launched a pitch over the right-center field wall for a two-run homer. It was Wells’ first Double-A homer of the season. Wells is hitting at .300 with a homer and four RBI since returning from the IL earlier this week.

The 6,959 sold tickets was the largest crowd of the season thus far.
