New York Yankees veteran third baseman Josh Donaldson will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset Patriots, beginning Tuesday night when Somerset entertains the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.

The 37-year old veteran infielder hit .222 last season for the Yankees, his first in the Bronx. A lifetime .264 hitter, Donaldson owns 267 career home runs, and has driven in 791 RBIs. A three-time All-Star in 2014, '15 and '16, Donaldson's best season came in 2015 when he had 184 hits, 41 homers, scored 122 runs and drove in 123 for the Toronto Blue Jays. Donaldson has hit at least 20 home runs seven times in his career (2013-2017, 2019, 2021) and at least 30 home runs four times (2015-2017, 2019).

Donaldson becomes the 20th member of the Major League squad to rehab with Double-A Somerset since the Patriots became an affiliate in 2021.
