Add Gary Fenter’s name to a growing list of young New York Yankees pitching prospects who are impressing this week in the Double-A Subway Series against Binghamton.
The Patriots topped the Mets Double-A Affiliate 5-1 on Saturday afternoon with Fenter tossing five innings of three-hit baseball, allowing only a run – a homer by Branden Fryman – along with two walks and six strikeouts.

Fenter’s work combined by a spotless effort from the Patriots bullpen paved the way to a second straight victory.
Anthony Seigler’s RBI double in the fourth inning, T.J. Rumfield’s two-run single in the sixth, and Trey Sweeney’s RBI double in the seventh provided all the offense for the Patriots in the afternoon.
