The Somerset Patriots announced their preliminary 2023 roster on Sunday, and the Martian will land in Somerset to start the season.

That's right, Yankees number 2 prospect, Jasson Dominguez makes his return to Central Jersey to headline the 2023 Patriots this season. Dominguez was a breakout star in Somerset at the end of last season when he went 9-for-20 with three homers and 10 RBI in the playoffs, including crushing a pair of homers in the championship clincher against Erie.

The Patriots will also welcome fellow top 10 Yankees prospects Everson Pereira (No. 6), SS Trey Sweeney (No. 7),  RHP Will Warren (No. 9) and RHP Richard Fitts (No. 10). Periera, Sweeney and Warren all spent time in Somerset last season.

Clayton Beeter also makes his return to Somerset this season. Beeter was acquired at the deadline in a deal between the Yankees and the LA Dodgers, and spent part of last season with the Patriots.

The Patriots begin the 2023 season on Thursday at TD Bank Ballpark against the Washington Nationals Double-A affiliate the Harrisburg Senators at 6:35 p.m. Catch all the action here on Fox Sports New Jersey 93.5 FM 1450 AM.
