According to NJ.com, Rutgers senior forward Caleb McConnell might miss Thursday night's critical Big Ten match-up with Michigan.

McConnell is still bothered by a back injury he suffered in warm-ups on Saturday in Wisconsin.  Currently he is listed as day-to-day.

“I’m not expecting him for Michigan,” Head Coach Steve Pikeill told NJ.com. “We’ll see what happens, but if we had to play (Monday), he wouldn’t be able to play. Back injuries are tough.”

McConnell has played in 21 games this season, averaging 9.7 points per game in 33.4 minutes per game. He owns 113 rebounds, 53 steals and 10 blocks.

Rutgers (17-10) and Michigan (15-12) are both 9-7 against Big Ten Competition this year. Both programs are chasing Illinois, Maryland and Iowa for a higher seed in the Big ten Tournament. Tip-off between the Scarlet Knights and Wolverines is at 8:30 p.m. from Jersey Mike's Arena on Thursday night.
