ORCHARD PARK, NEW YORK - NOVEMBER 13: Damar Hamlin #3 of the Buffalo Bills gestures towards the crowd during the third quarter against the Minnesota Vikings at Highmark Stadium on November 13, 2022 in Orchard Park, New York.

Damar Hamlin is embarking on a new mission. He’s created social media challenge: he is partnering with the American Heart Association to get as many people as possible CPR trained.

In a video posted on Twitter, Hamlin speaks out about his new “Damar Hamlin 3 for Heart” challenge.

“Once again, I want to thank everybody for their love and support over these past few weeks,” he said. “As you know, CPR saved my life earlier this year on the field, and CPR can easily save your life, or someone you love.”

“To kick things off, I’m challenging the GOATs: LeBron James, Tom Brady, and Michelle Obama,” he said.

The challenge has three steps to complete:

1. Go to and watch the short video showing how to do hands-only CPR
2. Donate to the AHA to fund CPR awareness and education
3. Share the initiative on social media and challenge three friends to do the same

Participants are encouraged to share their videos on social media with the hashtag #3forHeart and tag Hamlin at @HamlinIsland on Twitter, @d.ham3 on Instagram, as well as Facebook and LinkedIn.

The 3forHeart challenge follows Hamlin’s latest video where he noted that he was thankful for the outpouring of support and promised to pay it back. On Jan. 2 the Buffalo Bills safety went into cardiac arrest on the field. He was later released from the hospital on Jan. 11.
