In the world of superheroes, there are two main contenders that fans flock to. Those are either the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) or DC Comics. Both host their own cast of super-powered heroes however the two are not the same.
While Marvel has built its legacy in comics and movies, DC has struggled in the later half having more success in its animated shows and games. That doesn't ring true for all of DC's movies, but it's enough to have fans wanting who they feel is responsible fired.
Those being James Gunn and Peter Safran, this drama is nothing new, but it's reached a boiling point ever since Man of Steel (2013) star Henry Cavill, was released from the role of superman. Fans of the overall franchise are even saying to boycott the main company Warner Bros. until something is changed. #GunnAndSafranOut was trending all of today. We saw similar outrage after Zack Snyder, the previous man in charge was subsequently replaced by James Gunn. Snyder has been behind some of the most successful and well-received DC movies including Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021), which was the most streamed movie on HBO Max that year.
Will Warner Bros. listen to the demands of their fans and can either Gunn or Safran? Probably not, but this in turn might hurt their upcoming movies at the box office those being Shazam! Fury of The Gods in March of next year and The Flash the following month. DC fans will have to live in a universe without either Zach Snyder or Henry Cavill.
2008 was a good year for the cinema. Even if you weren't into vampires or werewolves you either enjoyed (or made fun of) Twilight, had some laughs at Step Brothers and cried the biggest tears at the end of Marley and Me. Although it's hard to believe that all of these films will be turning 15 in 2023, check out the rest of the list below:
