The Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo had 37 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists before he fouled out of the game. Nonetheless, Allen’s three iced the game as the Bucks won 109-103.
In this game, Allen only made one three, but in the game before against Dallas, he went 7 for 7 beyond the arc in the first half. That one three was the difference maker for them to officially pull away.
When Antetokounmpo fouled out there was still one minute left in the game and the Bucks were up by two. He tried to block Knicks center Mitchell Robinsons' shot. The Bucks challenged the play hoping Brook Lopez hit the ball first but Antetokounmpo hit Robinson’s arm first.
Robinson would go to the line and hit one free throw he missed the second but, the Knicks would get the rebound, and then Jalen Brunson would go to the line and hit a free throw that would tie the game with 47 seconds remaining.
After Allen’s three RJ Barrett missed a three to tie it and the Bucks hit free throws to end the game.
Jrue Holiday had a good game as well with 22 points, six rebounds, and five assists. For the most part, it was solely Antetokounmpo who was the Bucks' only offense.
Barrett had 26 points, Julius Randle 18 points, and Brunson 17 for the Knicks, who on Tuesday night had 140 points against the Detroit Pistons. Things were different with the Bucks' defense. The Knicks shot 42% from the field, 20% from three and a bad 65% from the free throw line. Robinson had himself a game with 15 points and 20 rebounds, 11 of those rebounds were offensive.
“I thought we got some good shots we didn’t make,” Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said. “But I liked the way we competed. I thought we did a lot of good things.”
The Knicks have lost four straight home games and will look to snap that streak when they host the Dallas Mavericks Saturday.
