RUTGERS 66 - North Carolina Central 45

Awa Sidibe posted a career night with 18 points to lead the Rutgers women's basketball team to a dominant 66-45 victory over North Carolina Central to improve to 3-1 on the year. It's RU's best start in two years since they opened the COVID-shortened 2019-20 season at 5-1.

"She's always been a really good defender, since we first saw her in the gym," Head Coach Coquese Washington said. "The thing she's really improved is her high post jumper. She puts in the work, she's always in the gym getting up shots. That's the thing I see the most that's improved is her ability to knock down the high post shot."

Rutgers dominated the game, never trailing at any point. RU jumped out to a 20-10 lead after the first quarter and carried an 18-point lead into the break.

Kaylene Smikle and Erica Lafayette each dropped down 12 points in the victory.

While Rutgers shot only 38 percent from the field, they hit on 78 percent of their free throw attempts.
