Point one goes to the boys from Long Island.
The New York Islanders took care of their city brethren, the New York Rangers, 4-3 in a thrilling come-from-behind victory that saw the Isles erase a 3-1 deficit to score three third period goals on route to victory.
Adam Pelech, Brock Nelson and Andres Lee all scored in the third period to push the Islanders to victory. The goals by Neslon and Lee came within two minutes of one another in the late stages of the period.

The victory moves the Islanders to 9-5 as they inch closer to the first place Devils; only two points separate the distant rivals. Meanwhile the Blue Shirts have now lost three straight, stand at 6-5-3 on the season.
“We lost a tough hockey game, tough to swallow,” coach Gerard Gallant said. ”We played well. We deserved the game tonight. The Islanders are the best team in the league in the third period. They scored three.”
