Who's ready for some primetime football?!?

Rutgers' November 5 match-up with the Michigan Wolverines has been moved up to a 7:30 p.m. kick-off at SHI Stadium.

That means our broadcast coverage on Fox Sports New Jersey will begin at 5 p.m. with the Rutgers Tailgate show starring hosts Anthony Fuccilli, Dom Savino and JP.

Rutgers is 1-7 all time against Michigan. In fact two of its most memorable match-ups against the Wolverines were in primetime. The first ever Michigan-Rutgers match-up was under the lights of SHI Stadium in 2014, a game Rutgers won 26-24. That was the night Gary Nova tossed for 404 yards and three touchdowns for the Scarlet Knights.

Two years ago Rutgers jumped out to a 17-0 lead on Michigan before getting into a high scoring tug-of-war that Michigan pulled out in triple overtime 48-45. Noah Vedral threw for 381 yards and three touchdowns that night for RU.

Last season, Rutgers had Michigan in a vice out in Ann Arbor before the Wolverines again stormed back late to win it 20-13. In short whenever these two programs get together, expect hard hits and a close ball game.

This season Rutgers is 4-3 and coming off their first conference win of the year against Indiana. Michigan looks unbeatable right now at 7-0.  This upcoming weekend, Rutgers will be in Minnesota against the Golden Gophers.

According to Rutgers Athletics, "it will be the annual Military Appreciation Game, as Rutgers welcomes all active-duty and veteran members of the armed forces and their families to attend. Through Rutgers Athletics' R Heroes program, fans will once again have the opportunity to purchase and donate tickets to active-duty and veteran members of the armed forces and their families."
